Liverpool suffered a 3-2 defeat away to Arsenal this evening.
This is now the Reds’ worst start to a Premier League season in 10 years as Jurgen Klopp’s side sit 14 points behind the Gunners at the top of the standings.
And furthermore, things could get even worse for Liverpool.
Now is certainly not the time for Klopp to lose another big player to a long-term injury.
And here’s how former Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique reacted on Twitter to seeing him go off at Arsenal today.
LUIS DIAZ INJURY
Indeed, hopefully for the Anfield outfit’s sake he is okay.
But no doubt Klopp and every Liverpool supporter will be worried because, honestly, they cannot afford to lose someone like Diaz – who went straight down the tunnel – at the moment.
Remember, the Reds are struggling big time and their point deficit to Arsenal at the summit of the Premier League is an accurate reflection of their season thus far.
The German manager didn’t sign another winger when Sadio Mane left for Bayern Munich during the summer, which limits who Klopp can use on the left-hand side of attack if he is out for a while.
Diogo Jota would be the obvious candidate but with the Portuguese attacker having his own injury problems this season, it’s dicey.
