Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to succeed regardless, as Pep Guardiola signed a new contract with Manchester City, as he posted on Instagram.
The former Liverpool left-back added that, with Jurgen Klopp in the dugout, he thinks his side ‘can beat anyone’, but he is hoping the German is backed in the transfer market.
Klopp recently penned his long-term future with the Anfield club – he signed a deal until 2026, whilst Guardiola has followed suit and will stay on in the Premier League until 2025.
Manchester City have won four of the last five Premier League titles and they have dominated the English domestic circuit, with the Reds being the only ones able to throw punches at them.
Arsenal are showcasing their worth now, but are yet to prove themselves by winning that Premier League title again, as Enrique reacted to Liverpool and Klopp set to battle it out with Guardiola and Manchester City for a few more years yet.
With Klopp as a manager with the right players, then we can beat anyone.”
THAT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TROPHY
Guardiola’s dominance on the domestic stage and style of winning can’t be argued, even Liverpool fans will tell you that.
Yes, they have been backed by a stupid amount of money, but Guardiola has taken them up more than a few more levels, even though when he joined, they were already Premier League champions.
But one thing Klopp holds over the former Barcelona midfielder is that Champions League trophy.
Liverpool added a sixth to their cabinet in Madrid, but their rivals have yet to taste that success, and if they struggle to get over that line with Erling Haaland in their ranks now, then serious questions will be asked.
