TRANSFER UPDATE: £29M LIVERPOOL STAR, TOTTENHAM OUTCASTS: PREMIER LEAGUE XI WHO NEED JANUARY MOVES THIS MONTH

PREMIER LEAGUE XI WHO NEED JANUARY TRANSFERS, FEATURING ZIYECH & FIRMINO

The January transfer window is here, and with it will come some huge transfers from Premier League clubs as teams rush to improve their squads this month.

The rumour mill is already in full swing as the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have already been linked with numerous players who could add something quite special to the Premier League this season.

However, we will not be focusing on transfers in, but rather on those in the English top-flight who will be desperate for a move this month following a drab start to the season with little-to-no playing time despite their reputations.

Indeed, January is already shaping up to be a record-breaking window. And here is our XI of Premier League players who should be looking for transfers in the coming weeks.

Many had already forgotten that Martin Dubravka was actually at Manchester United before the Slovakian goalkeeper returned to Newcastle United earlier this window, with the shot-stopper’s loan being cut short due to a lack of playing time as a permanent exit from St. James Park is now seemingly on the cards, along with Jamal Lewis.

The main player in the defence, though, is Tottenham’s Djed Spence, who after joining in the summer to much fanfare has, unsurprisingly, failed to meet expectations in north London, with Antonio Conte already looking to sell the defender according to ESPN.

Two more English defenders who could be on the move this month is one-time Liverpool icon Nat Phillips and Everton’s Michael Keane, with the Toffees’ centre-back already being reported with a move to West Ham, a transfer that could please all parties this month given the former Manchester United talent’s lack of minutes this season.

ZIYECH AND GIL FEATURE WITH ARSENAL’S LOKONGA AND GALLAGHER

When it comes to players who are looking for a transfer away, it doesn’t take long for a Chelsea player to appear on the list, with both Conor Gallagher and Hakim Ziyech making our XI as the duo could benefit hugely from leaving west London this January, namely the Moroccan international, who has been heavily linked with AC Milan.

Another Premier League midfielder who could do with a transfer this month is Arsenal’s Alber Sambi Lokonga, who has hardly featured for the Gunners this season with Mohamed Elneny and Fabio Vieira preferred as alternatives to Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey.

Completing the midfield is the second and final Tottenham player in the XI with Bryan Gil, with the former Spanish wonderkid seemingly set to join Spence out of north London this month with the winger also failing massively to make any sort of impact under Conte this season.

FIRMINO LEADS THE LINE WITH NOTTINGHAM FOREST SIGNING DENNIS

With Liverpool signing Cody Gakpo out of the blue in late December, a potential attacking departure seems likely for the Merseyside giants in January, with Roberto Firmino the only obvious candidate to depart Anfield given the Brazilian international’s contract situation.

Reports from Mundo Deportivo already seem to indicate that Atletico Madrid are interested in the £29m Liverpool man, and whilst supporters will find it hard to say goodbye, Firmino leaving England might be for the best for everyone, as well as Emmanuel Dennis departing Nottingham Forest.

The Atheltic report that Steve Cooper’s side already want to sell the Nigerian international just five months after winning the race to sign the former Watford star, and with interest likely to be high in Dennis, a transfer feels very likely for the Premier League striker already.
