Thiago Alcantara sported a new, rather severe, haircut ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Rangers.
In the latest batch of training photos, Thiago could be seen with a fresh new trim. Just like his midfield colleague Fabinho, it would appear that the Liverpool player is now bald.
It’s a hark back to the days of the Spaniard first joining Liverpool. Back in the autumn of 2020, the 31-year-old showed off a similar look after his £20m move, before growing it out to a more familiar style.
Thiago clearly means business, and that in itself should be good news for Reds fans.

Thiago looking to get back to his best
After coming back from injury with some marvellous displays, Thiago hasn’t been quite the same of late.
A sloppy performance in the 3-3 draw with Brighton was followed up with another slightly below-par showing at the Emirates on Sunday.
That culminated in the 31-year-old giving away a costly penalty for a foul on Gabriel Jesus. It was a soft a penalty as you’re likely to see. But it was still needlessly clumsy from Thiago.
Perhaps the Spaniard is still adjusting to Jurgen Klopp’s tweak in formation. The switch from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 is obviously quite a big change for the midfield in particular.
Thiago took some time to adapt to playing in a midfield three upon joining Liverpool. It could be that the Spain international is simply trying to get used to another shift in system.
If that is the case, then it shouldn’t take Thiago too long. He largely played in a midfield two whilst at Bayern and obviously has the necessary tools to play in the formation.
So, in that sense, we could see a ‘new-look’ Thiago in two senses of the word this evening.
Despite the changes though we’ll hopefully see a return of the masterful version of the No.6 that we’ve become used to. Three points for Liverpool tonight could well depend on it.
