REPORT: Liverpool have held a meeting about signing Gavi

Gavi’s contract expires in 2023 but Barcelona did agree on a new one earlier this summer. However, financial problems prevented them from signing the thing – the teenager remains on his youth contract.

Barcelona believe they can formally get it done soon, now the transfer window is shut. Other teams aren’t entirely convinced, though, and the likes of Liverpool – and nearly every major club – have held meetings to be kept in the loop.

If Gavi is at all in any doubt about Barcelona, clubs are ready to pounce.

Liverpool hold meeting about signing Gavi

Liverpool have been linked with an interest in Gavi for some time now. It’s not exactly a shock to anyone, either – he’s one of the greatest young players in world football.

Liverpool have held a meeting about signing Gavi, according to reports. The Barcelona youngster has an uncertain future.

This comes from 90min. They claim that Gavi’s future remains in the air and teams are beginning to see a chance to sign him.

Now, we expect Gavi to re-sign with Barcelona. They’ll do all they can to make it happen as losing him would be an absolute disaster.

But modern-day Barcelona are far from a sure thing when it comes to deals. They lost Lionel Messi, after all, so they can certainly lose Gavi.

And Liverpool should be there in case he wants a change. Gavi is a sensational young player who would fit in perfectly with the Reds’ current youngsters. We think they should go all-out to get him, if there’s any kind of opportunity.

But we won’t hold our breath. We’d love to have Gavi but the ball is in Barcelona’s court.
