LIVERPOOL AND TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR LINKED WITH ANTON STACH

90min reported last week that Liverpool and Tottenham are among the clubs who are keen on signing Stach from Mainz in the summer transfer window.

The report claimed that scouts from Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham United all have watched Stach in action for his German club Mainz this year.

The 24-year-old Germany international mainly plays as a number 6, but he is able to operate as an 8 or a 10, according to the report.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has now given his take on the future of Stach in CaughtOffSide.

Romano has said that the midfielder could cost €18-20 million (£16-£17.5 million).

TRANSFER FEE NEEDED

The journalist told CaughtOffSide: “Anton Stach is impressing with Mainz and we’re now seeing transfer rumours about a potential big move to the Premier League.

He’s a good player with value close to €18-20m, but at the moment honestly I’m not aware of his name being on Tottenham’s list.

“No decision will be made by Tottenham on summer targets in February or March.”

STATS

Stach has made 14 starts and five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Mainz so far this season.

The midfielder has scored one goal and given three assists in those matches.

Last season, the German made 20 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Mainz.

Stach scored one goal and gave six assists in those games.

Meanwhile, TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that Liverpool are monitoring central defender Kevin Mantilla of Independiente Santa Fe, although the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners could have work permit issues.
