REPORT: LIVERPOOL ALREADY PLANNING BID FOR ‘EXCEPTIONAL’ MIDFIELDER, REDS THINK HE WANTS TO JOIN

Liverpool are ready to make their move for Mason Mount as they attempt to secure a cut-price deal for the Chelsea playmaker.

That’s according to Football London, who claim that Liverpool are ‘seriously interested’ in signing Mount.

It’s suggested that Liverpool are planning to make a bid for Mount as they look to take advantage of his contract situation.

Mount is into the final 18 months of his Chelsea contract and talks over a new deal haven’t gone anywhere.

That means Mount could leave Chelsea this summer and the Reds are sensing an opportunity.

Chelsea won’t love the idea of selling Mount to a rival but taking the cash is surely better than seeing him leave for nothing.

LIVERPOOL THINK MASON MOUNT WANTS ANFIELD MOVE

These rumours of Liverpool moving to sign Mason Mount just aren’t going away.

TalkSPORT claimed earlier in March that the Reds are increasingly confident of signing Mount this summer.

90Min also suggest that the Reds believe Mount would to join Liverpool over Premier League rivals like Newcastle United, Manchester City and Manchester United.

This is all pretty encouraging stuff for Liverpool and, even with the summer window off in the distance, a bid appears to be coming.

Chelsea are moving forward with a new project and Mount may not feel like a key part of the plans anymore.

Yet if you look at Liverpool, they need at least two midfield additions to really help Jurgen Klopp.

Mount’s work rate and ability to unlock defences could be vital for Liverpool and his contract situation means the Reds wouldn’t have to break the bank.

Hailed as ‘exceptional’ by England boss Gareth Southgate, Mount could be just what Liverpool want – and Chelsea should be bracing themselves for an offer.
