REAL MADRID AND LIVERPOOL LINKED WITH XABI ALONSO

Goal claimed last month that Liverpool are following the progess of Bayer Leverkusen manager Alonso.

Jurgen Klopp is in charge of Liverpool at the moment, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are looking ahead to the time when the German will no longer be at the club.

Marca have claimed that Madrid also have an eye on the 41-year-old former Spain international midfielder.

Last season’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League winners are closely following the progress of Alonso as a manager, according to the report in the Spanish publication.

Alonso played for Liverpool from 2004 until 2009 before joining Madrid where he was until 2024.

The 41-year-old won the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League once each as a player with Liverpool.

During his time at Madrid, Alonso won La Liga once and the UEFA Champions League once.

INTERESTING

It is quite interesting that Real Madrid and Liverpool both have their sights set on Xabi Alonso.

Alonso is doing well at Bayer Leverkusen at the moment.

The Spaniard was appointed the manager of the German club in October 2022.

Bayer are 10th in the Bundesliga table at the moment with 24 points from 19 matches.

The German club will take on AS Monaco in the UEFA Europa League knockout round playoffs.

Alonso was a brilliant player who was successful wherever he went, and his managerial career is going well at the moment.

It will be interesting to see which club Alonso goes to after Bayer.
