PSG READY TO ACTIVATE £130M CLAUSE TO SIGN LIVERPOOL & MAN CITY TARGET

PSG are reportedly ready to activate Rafael Leao’s release clause to sign the attacker in January, with Liverpool and Manchester City also chasing the AC Milan superstar.

According to Media Foot, the Ligue 1 giants are eager to bring the Portuguese international back to France with Leao one of European football’s most exciting talents with Milan after joining the club from LOSC Lille. As per the report, PSG will have to pay €150m (£130m) to land the 23-year-old winger.

Leao was a key reason behind Milan’s Serie A title win last season and this year has continued his good for the Rossoneri, yet the winger’s future at the San Siro is in serious doubt, with contract talks seemingly not going to play for the attacker, and PSG could now capitalise.

This update will come as a serious blow to the likes of City and Liverpool, who according to Corriere della Sera were interested in signing Leao next summer should the forward fail to agree to a new deal with Milan, though now it seems PSG are set to beat the Premier League giants to the punch.

With Neymar’s future up in the air long with Lionel Messi’s, signing Leao would be quite the statement from PSG, with the attacker often compared to both the Brazilian international as well as Kylian Mbappe, who could soon become the Portuguese international’s teammate in Paris.

Indeed, Leao moving to PSG would be quite the surprise given how strongly linked the forward has been to a Premier League move. And for City and Liverpool, their European rivals going all out to sign the Milan star will be a blow and a half for both clubs.

Leao is one of the most exciting talents in Europe. And at Milan, the former Lille star has become nothing short of a superstar with the Italian giants. Yet should PSG land the winger in 2023, there’s a good chance that the Parisian side could dominate in Europe for many years to come.

After all, Leao partnering with Mbappe in the attack is one of the most terrifying prospects imaginable, yet this could become a reality if PSG follow through with their interest and activate the 23-year-old’s release clause, which would be one of the most expensive deals ever.
