Liverpool face Arsenal in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has explained why he’s confident the Gunners will beat Liverpool this weekend.
The Reds take on Arsenal in the Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. It sees Liverpool looking to claim their first win in the top flight since the end of August.
Jurgen Klopp ’s side are currently in ninth place in the league table with just 10 points from their opening seven fixtures. In contrast, Arsenal are top of the league with 21 points, 11 ahead of the Reds, but have played one game more.
Tomiyasu, who plays at right-back for Arsenal, acknowledges the quality that Liverpool still possess, despite their inconsistent start to the season, However, the Japan international is still confident that the Gunners can inflict a defeat on the Reds.
Liverpool is still Liverpool. Of course it will not be an easy game,” Tomiyasu told the Evening Standard.
“As I said, everyone needs to be helping the team. But we are better than last season and we are confident to beat them.
“We have no fear. We are playing at home with 60,000 people behind us. We need to try and get three points.
To be fair, the atmosphere of the dressing room is very good. We are confident and we are top of the League. We are ready to beat them.
We have got a lot of games in October until the World Cup, so every player has to be ready to play, to help the team.”
