MUST READ 🔥 Fabio Carvalho has revealed the nickname given to him by his Liverpool teammates, however, he is not a fan.

The former Fulham player was close to joining Liverpool in January but the deal fell through on deadline day as both parties were unable to get the documents finalised in time.

 

Liverpool eventually did get their man as they announced his signing after the end of the 21/22 season. Carvalho cost the Anfield club a reported fee of £5 million plus £2.7 million in performance related add ons.

Jurgen Klopp gave Carvalho his Liverpool debut in the 31 FA Community Shield win over Manchester City. In the Premier LeagueCarvalho made two late substitute appearances in the club’s first two games against Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Despite the limited opportunities, the Portuguese youngster is enjoying life as a Liverpool player, however, he is not happy with being called Bruno Mars by his teammates.

He told Liverpool’s official website: “We had a few days where we went for food at the restaurant and then there was the initiation with the songs for the new lads which brought us closer, especially for me as I had to sing and so the lads were just laughing and joking.” Image Credit: Alamy

Carvalho added: “Things like that just bring the group together, even the young players who came with us as well. It just brings everyone closer.

“When I first came my nickname from the lads was Bruno Mars, which I’ve now said no to! So to stick to that little joke, though, I sang Bruno Mars’ The Lazy Song. It was alright!”

Next up for Liverpool is a huge clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Both teams are yet to taste victory in the league this season, United are yet to win a point.
