MUST READ 📌 Outstanding’ PL midfielder proved why he’d be the perfect signing for Liverpool yesterday – RTK View

Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes showed once again why he’d be a perfect signing for Liverpool on Saturday.

The Brazilian bagged two goals to help his side to a 5-1 win over Brentford. It signalled the latest in a string of fantastic displays from Bruno since arriving in January.

Newcastle are obviously very much an upwardly mobile club right now. But should a club like Liverpool come in for the 24-year-old, perhaps his head could be turned.

Bruno would probably cost considerably more than the £40m the Magpies signed him for 10 months ago. Given his displays and potential to improve further though, he could certainly be worth it.perfect signing for Liverpool

Bruno shows his class against Brentford

As per Fotmob, Bruno made 44 out of 53 passes on Saturday, or 83%. Seven of those passes were into the final third while the Brazil international also created two chances.

Bruno made 100% of his attempted dribbles whilst also winning six out of nine duels. No wonder manager Eddie Howe called his performance ‘outstanding’ via Sky Sports.

On top of all that, his two goals showed what an asset he can be to his team. The first, a firm diving header, showcased his ability to make well-timed runs into the box from deep. He then scored a well-hit low strike from the edge of the area.

For Liverpool, who have struggled to find goals from their midfielders, these qualities are very desirable. As a result, it’s easy to see why the Reds have reportedly identified Bruno as their ‘perfect’ midfield signing.perfect signing for Liverpool

As per Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy, that’s exactly what they’ve done.

“One of the other things I was told was that if there was a blank canvas and Liverpool could sign anyone without any restrictions, so availability wasn’t an issue and the club he’s at wasn’t an issue, all of these things, it would be Bruno from Newcastle,” Reddy said via The Anfield Wrap.

“Somebody at [Manchester] City said similar, that they can’t believe Newcastle got that deal.”

So, Liverpool clearly already missed one chance to bring in their ideal midfield addition. But with the Reds still a bigger draw than Newcastle, maybe they should give it one last go next summer.
