Liverpool will love what they saw from Bukayo Saka on his World Cup debut. The Arsenal winger has been linked with the Reds.
Bukayo Saka stole the show for England on Monday. The Arsenal man scored twice as Iran were put away 6-2 – an incredible World Cup debut from the 21-year-old.
Saka grabbed his goals either side of half-time before going off on 71 minutes. His performance earned the Man of the Match award, too, as arguably the most decisive England star.
It’s another milestone for Saka, then. He’s been in wonderful form for Arsenal this season, kicking on another level for a team thriving in the Premier League. He even earned a comparison to Mohamed Salah from Martin Keown last month.
It seems that the player meets every challenge in front of him – and here was another one. It’s a milestone that will catch further attention from Liverpool.

Liverpool have been consistently linked with Saka in 2022. His Arsenal contract is technically up in the summer, after all – though, there’s an option for another year that the Gunners would definitely trigger.

The Times were the most recent outlet to mention it. They say Liverpool, along with Manchester City, want Saka and have tracked him for a long time.
Their only hope is that Saka chooses to reject a new offer with Arsenal, though. If he does that, they may be forced to sell in the summer before losing him for free in 2024. There is a chance he’s available, then.

And if Saka is indeed available, Liverpool must make a move. He’s an unbelievably talented player and one of the few who could succeed Salah long-term.
Liverpool will love the fact that he stepped onto the World Cup stage and delivered a starring role, too. That’s extremely difficult to do, even against a side you’re massive favourites against. Saka, though, has shown once again that he’s capable of playing a key role under the spotlight at just 21.
That would tempt any side in the world to make a move and Liverpool are no different.
