Inter Milan have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Naby Keita, who is expected to leave Liverpool at the end of this season as a free agent.
According to CalcioMercato, the midfielder has been offered to the San Siro side by Keita’s agency as the Anfield star looks set for the exit this summer, with the Premier League giants unwilling to hand the 28-year-old a new deal as an exit looks incredibly likely.
As per the report, Inter are serious about signing Keita this summer, though two big factors could stop the Nerazzurri from agreeing on a deal for the Guniea international, that being the midfielder’s wages as well as if the Serie A side are willing to bring in a player with as bad an injury record as the African’s.
Indeed, Inter’s concerns over signing Keita are more than justified. However, even how needed a change of scenery is for the midfielder, a move to Italy alone could be enough to change the Liverpool star’s injury record, with Serie A a division that could be very beneficial.
Moreover, whilst wages could be an issue for Inter, Keita could be more than willing to lower his salary demands in order to play for a top club in a top-five European league, with the midfielder a player who could become a superstar for Simone Inazghi’s side.
INTER SIGNING KEITA COULD BE A SENSATIONAL DEAL FOR ALL PARTIES
Keita’s Premier League career with Liverpool would be defined by many as unusual, with the midfielder having plenty of silverware in his personal trophy cabinet without doing much in the last four seasons on the pitch, yet a move to Inter could a great one for all parties involved.
As we know, Keita is in need of a complete change in scenery, and whilst Inter could be viewed by many as too big a club for the midfielder to move to, the Liverpool star could flourish in Italy, where the football is traditionally slower than what is played in England.
