Liverpool has own Marcus Rashford about to be unleashed on Manchester United for the first time

Marcus Rashford is in impressive form for Manchester United at the moment but Liverpool has a player who is on par statistically with the England star to unleash.

TRENT ON UNITED CLASH AND WHY THE REDS WON’T GIVE UP ON TOP FOUR

One of the most in-form players at the moment, facing Marcus Rashford in his current state is going to be a frightening prospect for Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

The stakes for the Reds’ encounter with Manchester United couldn’t be any higher. Jürgen Klopp desperately needs his side to secure a victory against the club’s arch-rivals, not only for the sake of Liverpool’s integrity but also in the fight for Champions League football next season.

Having put themselves just six points away from the top four with a game in hand, Liverpool’s players will know they cannot afford any more slip-ups and must go on the kind of winning streak which saw them record an almost perfect campaign last season.

Rashford stands in the way of all of that, but while Liverpool will be concerned by his recent exploits, Manchester United should be worried about one Liverpool forward as well who is about to face the Red Devils for the first time.

That’s just a 0.06 difference between the two of them per every 90 minutes, and the margin might be even smaller had the Uruguayan not had a goal ruled out harshly by VAR against Wolves midweek.

Sure, Núñez has played far fewer minutes than Rashford, which means his overall goal and assist figures are not as impressive, but when it comes to both of their contribution on the pitch, it’s pretty similar, and once Núñez has a regular run in the Liverpool team without suspensions and injuries, the numbers will reflect that.

This will be Núñez’s first taste of this feisty English fixture, and it’s going to be interesting how he handles that side of the game as well. He will likely be in the thick of the action, just as he was at the Merseyside derby a few weeks prior.

Having that kind of energy and goal threat could be the difference-maker for Liverpool. Just like how Rashford will be hoping to be the difference maker for Manchester United.

Who will come out on top will be determined on Sunday, with the only thing guaranteed being that you will not want to take your eyes off of this game.
