Liverpool ⚽ confirmed line-up as two players return from injury and Newcastle handed major boost

Liverpool’s starting eleven and full team news for the Premier League fixture against Newcastle

Jurgen Klopp has named an unchanged side to the one that beat Bournemouth 9-0 on Saturday for Newcastle’s visit to Anfield this evening.

Alisson starts between the sticks as Andy Robertson keeps his place at left-back, while the other members of the Reds’ defence who helped secure a first clean sheet of the season also keep their places.

Despite impressing during the second-half of the Reds’ thrashing on Saturday, 20-year-old Fabio Carvalho is made to wait for his first Premier League start for his new club as Harvey Elliott keeps his place, overcoming a fitness scare from the weekend’s action. He starts alongside Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

In attack, Mohamed Salah is tasked with scoring his first Anfield goal of the season after somehow firing a blank last time out. Alongside the Egyptian is Roberto Firmino, who will hope to produce another fine performance ahead of Darwin Nunez’s return for the Merseyside derby this weekend, and Luis Diaz.

Joel Matip and Curtis Jones return from injury to take their place on Liverpool’s bench.

Meanwhile, the visitors are without attacking trio Callum Wilson, Bruno Guimaraes and Allan Saint-Maximin. The Magpies’ club-record signing Alexander Isak starts after receiving his work permit earlier this afternoon.

Liverpool XI : Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Elliott, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Diaz.

Subs: Adrian, Davies, Matip, Phillips, Tsimikas, Milner, Carvalho, Bajcetic, Jones
