It’s in my head’: Liverpool star responds to talk that the Reds could now chase the Premier League

Mohamed Salah gave his thoughts on whether Liverpool can still win the Premier League title. The Reds asked the question by beating Man City.

Few expected Liverpool to actually beat Manchester City. After all, the Reds have been in awfully inconsistent form this season while City were undefeated.

And yet, Mohamed Salah found a way. His moment of magic on 76 minutes found Liverpool a goal and that was enough to hand Pep Guardiola’s side their first loss of the campaign. It felt a little as like the Reds finding themselves once again.

So with that in mind, is it too late to mount a title challenge? Liverpool sit 14 points behind first-place Arsenal, albeit with a game in hand. It’s a lot of ground to make up, but there’s a lot of football to be played.

Salah gave his thoughts on a title challenge after the game to Sky Sports. The Egyptian can’t help but chase it.

“We’re still far away from that,” he said, per Liverpoolfc.com. “We just need to focus on each game and take one game at a time. We don’t have to think about the title at the moment.

Personally, I love to play always for a title, it’s in my head we’re going to fight for it. But we just need to focus more and take one game at a time, we don’t have to feel more pressure that there is still a gap between us and the first and the second.

Liverpool can still win the title

It would take an unbelievable run of form for Liverpool to win the title. They’d essentially need to win every remaining game. Though, that’s something they’ve done before. They practically did it last season, overcoming a ten-point gap with City to take the race to the final fifteen minutes of the campaign.

So it’s not impossible. We’d also back Arsenal to go through a period of poor form themselves, while who knows how City will be post-World Cup? Tha’s a spanner in the works that could change everything.

Look, we’d hardly put money on Liverpool winning the title. If any team has ever been able to do it from this position, though, it’s this one.
