‘I DON’T LIKE’: MICAH RICHARDS SLAMS PEOPLE ‘DISRESPECTING’ PLAYER LIVERPOOL COULD SIGN

Micah Richards has slammed people ‘disrespecting’ Liverpool January transfer target Kylian Mbappe amid rumours that he wants to leave PSG, as he told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (11/10/22 at 10:30 pm).

The former England defender thinks Mbappe himself hasn’t come out and stated that he wants to leave Paris and suggests people shouldn’t believe the recent rumours emerging about the player.

In the summer, Mbappe signed a new big-money contract at the French club, despite heavy talk that the then-out-of-contract player was going to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.

It did surprise some when he stayed put, as rumours circulated left, right and centre at the amount of power he had been given alongside extending a new contract with PSG.

Well, fast forward to the present and it seems Mbappe feels ‘betrayed’ at promises which simply haven’t been met and now he wants out when the transfer window re-opens in January, as reported by French reporter Julien Laurens.

Whilst all that talk dominated the football headlines on Tuesday, Richards took a backward step and defended the 2018 World Cup winner.

I didn’t like the way people were disrespecting Mbappe before,” said Richards. “No, he wasn’t (Richards responds to Carragher saying Mbappe is disrespecting PSG). I am just talking about the stories that are circulating.

“I have read 10+ stories ‘Mbappe wants to leave’. We haven’t heard it from Mbappe. This is a story that has come from, okay Julien Laurens, he is a respected journalist and we have to respect that.

“I am just thinking, like Thierry (Henry) said beforehand, we have to wait until Mbappe says something – do you think that really is the case? (Mbappe disrespecting PSG).

“He can be unhappy without wanting to leave in January. We have all been players. We have all been unhappy. He might have been asked to play a role and he’s not fulfilling that role. He probably wants to play as a number nine.”

MBAPPE TO LIVERPOOL?

It would be the dream of all dreams for Liverpool fans if their club somehow managed to land Mbappe’s talents, but in truth, he will probably stay where he is in January.

The 23-year-old is on a stupid amount of money, and on top of that, PSG will demand a serious fee for his talents if they are forced to part ways with him.

Both will probably be out of Liverpool’s ballpark, even if they decided to push the boat out for the versatile forward.

But, at the end of the day, PSG deserve Mbappe and he deserves them, when a club treats a player like he is bigger than the club and he thinks he is bigger than the club, then you are both welcome to one another.
