Bayern Munich legend Franck Ribery is urging the Bundesliga champions to make a move for Randal Kolo Muani as Liverpool look to bring the France international to the Premier League, speaking to Sport BILD.
Has there been a better free signing anywhere in European football this season?
Boubacar Kamara at Aston Villa, maybe. Christian Eriksen has certainly made his mark at Manchester United too. But, having already reached double figures both for goals and assists in 2022/23, reports are now suggesting that it would take an offer of around £90 million to convince Frankfurt to cash in after just one outstanding campaign at the Commerzbank Arena.
Liverpool, BILD say, are weighing up a bid. The prospect of Kolo Muani joining Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah in a new-look frontline will have Premier League defences quaking in their sponsored Pumas.
Bayern Munich are also in the radar for a new centre-forward, one year on from Robert Lewandowski’s departure. Bayern have all-but ruled out a move for Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane. But Kolo Muani – five years Kane’s junior – may be a more sensible use of their relatively-limited funds.

“He’s young and has potential. So the answer is actually clear!,” Ribery said when asked if his former employers should make a move for the one-time Nantes speedster.
FC Bayern has always signed young players with great potential. But it’s better to ask Brazzo (sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic) about that.”
Kolo Muani took his tally to 16 for the season with a bullet header in Frankfurt’s 2-2 draw with Wolfsburg last time out. A further 14 assists mean he has already broken the 30-goal barrier for goal contributions as a Frankfurt player.
“I didn’t really have him on my radar,” Ribery adds. “He came onto the pitch against Argentina in the World Cup final and he impressed me. After just one game I was able to I say; ‘Kolo Muani has personality, character and quality’.
“What he is showing in Frankfurt is also great.”
Kolo Muani is not ruling out a future switch to the Premier League, admitting that playing in England is his ‘dream’. For the time being, however, he is happy and settled with life in the Bundesliga.
