Darwin Nunez starts against Everton as Liverpool get unexpected Arthur Melo boost

Liverpool starting line-up and full confirmed team news for Goodison Park derby against Everton in Premier League

Darwin Nunez starts for Liverpool against Everton following his return from suspension.

The Uruguayan striker was forced to sit out the games with Manchester United, Bournemouth and Newcastle after a red card against Crystal Palace in his full Premier League debut on August 15.

However the £64m striker is back in the line-up as Roberto Firmino drops to the bench for the 241st Merseyside derby.

Fabio Carvalho is named in midfield alongside Harvey Elliott and Fabinho after Jordan Henderson picked up a hamstring injury in the 2-1 win over Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.

Kostas Tsimikas starts at left-back in place of Andy Robertson as the Scotland captain drops to the bench at Goodison Park.

New signing Arthur Melo received his international clearance in time to feature as part of the substitutes’ bench with Diogo Jota also named as part of the nine-man contingent having returned from a hamstring issue picked up in pre-season.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Fabinho, Elliott, Carvalho; Salah, Nunez, Diaz.
