Rosenborg striker Casper Tengstedt wants to join Liverpool one day – and he is now being compared to Reds striker Darwin Nunez.
Tengstedt has become a real goalscoring sensation over in Scandinavia.
The 22-year-old enjoyed a frankly ridiculous 2022, smashing 30 goals and 15 assists in 42 games for Rosenborg and loan club Horsens in Denmark.
Tengstedt has become a wanted man off the back of his goalscoring feats in 2022.
Football Scotland claimed in December that Celtic had scheduled talks to sign Tengstedt in their pursuit of a new striker.
Yet Tengstedt told TV2 earlier this year that his dream is to play for Liverpool one day, having seemingly grown up supporting the Reds.
Liverpool won’t be signing him this month, but he does now have a connection to a current Anfield star…
LIVERPOOL-MAD CASPER TENGSTEDT COMPARED TO DARWIN NUNEZ AHEAD OF BENFICA MOVE
Portuguese newspaper Record report that Tengstedt is on the verge of signing for Benfica.
Their report carries the headline of Tengstedt being ‘the Danish Darwin’, comparing him to Liverpool hitman Darwin Nunez.
Tengstedt is hailed as being mobile with great intensity and aggression, just like Nunez.
Nunez left Benfica for a move to Liverpool over the summer after excelling in two seasons with the Portuguese giants.
Goncalo Ramos looks like becoming Benfica’s next big striking sale and Tengstedt is now arriving to help Benfica’s attack.
Tengstedt seems to be a big Liverpool fan, so he should be loving that comparison.
Benfica will be hoping that Tengstedt can live up to that comparison and ultimately become a star in Lisbon, just like the Uruguayan.
Who knows, if Tengstedt goes and scores regularly for Benfica, he may yet end up at Anfield just like Nunez too as he hopefully embarks on a path towards Anfield.
