BE ALIVE’: GARY NEVILLE SAYS £60K-A-WEEK LIVERPOOL STAR WAS SLEEPING TODAY

Arsenal v Liverpool got off to a cracking start this evening.

Gabriel Martinelli fired the Gunners ahead as early as 58 seconds into the contest, slotting beyond Alisson.

But on the opposite flank, Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas is being threatened, too.

Bukayo Saka is up against the Greece left-back today and although the Arsenal winger isn’t directly threatening him all that often, Gary Neville feels that the former Olympiacos star is vulnerable.

He said live on Sky Sports: “Tsimikas just has to be alive to it on transitions. He has been caught two or three times.”

To be honest, the Liverpool defender was more than a touch suspect later in the half when Saka scored to make it 2-1 just before the break.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is getting slammed for being unable to prevent the counter attack, but there’s just no way that the Arsenal winger – Tsimikas’s man – should’ve been in that much free space to bundle home the Gabriel Martinelli cross.

Jurgen Klopp has been missing Andy Robertson quite a lot lately and there’s just no doubt that the Scotland international is a much more reliable left-back than his Greek counterpart.

As talented as Tsimikas – who earns £60,000 per week – is, he is liable to switch off, as Neville said, and it did cost Liverpool today.
