That’s what a lot of Reds supporters want to know, ahead of tonight’s FA Cup visit of Wolves.
Even during his press conference, Jurgen Klopp didn’t give a definitive answer as to whether he’d play – but that he would be involved.
Speaking via Liverpool’s official website, the German manager mentioned only that he was in ‘contention’ to make his debut following a £37 million transfer from PSV Eindhoven.
Klopp said: “Yes, he is in contention. He will be involved in the squad, of course. How exactly we will have to decide in the next few hours, but that’s fine.”
IS CODY GAKPO IN THE LIVERPOOL SQUAD TODAY?
If we’re going by Klopp’s update, yes.
But since then, the 23-year-old has done something on Instagram which strongly suggests he’s been told that he may even be playing.
This morning, Gakpo posted a promotional photograph of Liverpool v Wolves on his Instagram story, with a photo of him in his new kit front and centre.
And not only do we know he’s definitely in the squad, but this is a clear hint that he’s been informed a debut might even be imminent.
How Liverpool supporters are desperate to see their new Dutch winger and if he makes the first XI, even better.
