Liverpool have been urged to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans by former defender Stephen Warnock.
Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has urged the club to move for Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
The Reds’ poor start to the season continued on Monday night as they were beaten 2-1 away to Manchester United. They’ve collected just two points out of a possible nine from their opening three league games and sit 16th in the table.
Their injury concerns also worsened as midfielder Naby Keita wasn’t named in the matchday squad, having picked up a problem over the weekend. The mounting crisis, along with the poor form, has resulted in a number of supporters calling for midfield reinforcement before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.
Liverpool’s stance has remained the same all number, that their transfer business in terms of incomings has concluded and midfield will be the focus in the summer of 2023. However, Warnock has warned the start to the season is a concern for Jurgen Klopp and Tielemans is a player who could come in and make a difference.

Tielemans has been linked with a move to Anfield before, with rumours first emerging last year. He’s now in the final year of his contract at Leicester and has been heavily tipped to depart the King Power before next month’s deadline, some reports have suggested he could be available for less than the £25 million reported earlier in the window.
However, Premier League rivals Arsenal have also been linked with the 25-year-old and he won’t be short of suitors if he does leave Leicester in the coming weeks.
